Can we put up a category level discount, for example on Makeup/Skin care in our e-commerce store?

Yes, the StoreHippo ecommerce platform allows you to create a discount rule based on the product category. You can create the category based discount in your ecommerce store at the product-level and at the order-level. To create the category based discounts in your ecommerce store, follow the steps mentioned below:

• Go to the “Marketing” - > “Discounts” section of the StoreHippo Admin Panel.
• Click the “Add New” button in the top right corner.
• A new form will open up. Provide the discount details.
• If you have selected the “Product based” discount, click the “Add condition” button and select “Product Categories” in the field. 
• On the other hand if you have selected an “Order based” discount, you can provide a condition for “Every Item Category” or “Any Product Categories” option.
• After adding the condition, select the “Operator” and “Value” from the respective fields.
• Click the “Insert Condition” button and save the changes.
